conclusion
The following words are what i would have said at the funeral had i not been inches from crying and miles from reality:
my name is brandon march, and i, as well as several other incredibly lucky people here, was able to call dan a friend. and as a friend, i think some thank-you's are in order. first and most importantly, i thank dan's family, because whithout your guidance, dan wouldn't have been the person he was, the person we grew to love so much. secondly, i thank the classmates that are here, and the classmates that actually wanted to be here, but couldnt make it. These people were the ones close enough to dan to almost be family. these are the people he could confide in when family wasnt an option; people he could get into trouble with; people he knew he could pick on and they wouldn't be offended for more than a day or so; and most of all, people to love. im not sure if i could go as far as to say dan loved me, but i do know of at least one person he did love. Speaking to everyone here, make sure you say goodbye, because, knowing from expierence, it hurts more if you dont. make sure you forgive, because without forgivness, no new chances with anyone exsist. and make sure you remember. remember everything. dan is gone, so memories are all we have left. with the help of memories, dan still lives. dan still lives in our lives, are thoughts, and our conversations, and our hearts.
